Residual Current Operated Circuit Breakers (RCCB)
- A sensing device which can automatically measure and disconnect circuit whenever fault occurs or fault current exceeds the rated sensitivity.
- In the event of an earth leakage, the RCCB automatically trips and cuts off the leakage current flowing thus preventing a hazardous and fatal situation.
Description
There are Type AC and Type A:

| Suitable for domestic & commercial application but not areas with more than 30% Inverter Appliances and electronic devices | Use in application where several "electronic" loads exists. E.g. computer equipment / lighting systems with electronic ballast, energy saving appliances |
Selection of Type A RCCB is recommended to ensure compatibility safe operation in the presence of pulsating dc components in the circuit. Household products using inverter power conversion technology needs to be protected with Type A RCCB for efficiency.
